"Ground-breaking dance performance to be held at city's newest arts venue"
Overview
Acedia started with one live dancer in partnership with four digital dancers whose performances featured on iPads provided for the audience. The performance lasted for 20 minutes during which time the user would be taken on a journey about pandemic isolation.
The challenge
To examine the possibilities and the optimism of re-connecting with friends and family, and finding ourselves once again as we emerge from lockdown restrictions.
The performance featured Mo-Cap dance performances captured and rendered in Augmented Reality, as well as special effects to enhance the show. It was imperative all performances were synced for each device, so some basic networking was implemented to handle this.
